There is an exceptional line up of stags on offer from 2 years to 5 years. They include both sire stags and trophy stags and will be offered in full antler.
Most of these stags have not been offered before as they were retained either as potential future sire stags, or they damaged an antler prior to sale or were too advanced and drying off by sale time so were held back from sale.
Last year we grew all of our stags out to hard antler for evaluation purposes and we were very impressed with what we saw. From that evaluation process we have selected mostly the best stags for this sale. Most of these stags have not been offered before and we can assure you that they are impressive and well worth viewing. The best three and four year olds were scored independently last year by Murray and Russell McWhirter and these stags were close to or above 400 IOA.
Our catalogues for this sale will be posted out in early December and they will include photos of the stags on offer which have been taken this week.
You can expect strong multi point antlers as you would expect from over 30 years breeding here at the stud. Strong well placed tynes and heavy beams are a feature of the offering.
We are offering extended credit on sire stags through until the end of January 2014 and on trophy stags until the end of March 2014 and so we encourage you to secure your stag pre Christmas to give him the maximum time to settle in prior to mating. Further extended credit options are available through Heartland Bank, refer to the information at the bottom of this email.
Remember too that these stags are well suited to mating larger numbers of hinds reliably in their first mating as they are more mature at 3, 4 and 5 years old.
