The emphasis of our breeding program is to produce high scoring attractive trophy heads. The herd was established in 1979 and is now based on Hungarian/ Swedish crosses, with Danish bloodlines.

Our Red and Fallow Herds are C10 accredited. The Fallow herd originated from the South Kaipara area with a South Island Greenstone stag “Snowy” being introduced in 1979. An imported English stag was purchased in 1983. One Hungarian stag and 2 hinds were bought in 1988 from Bob Swan. These originated from Gruylai in Hungary. Unfortunately we only had three breeding seasons with him as he was found dead in October 1990. In December of that year a Hungarian and a Swedish Stag were purchased from Bruce McKenzie of the Waiarapa, who had imported them. These became the main sire stags for a number of years. The herd is based on Hungarian/ Swedish crosses, with Danish bloodlines from Ted Alford's introduced in 1997. New Hungarian bloodline introduced in 2010. Our Red herd is based on the original Woburn imports with successive Warnham/Woburn bloodlines introduced over the years. Recently Eastern trophy type genetics have also been introduced.
