The bloodlines that have created the wondrous heads on our stags have been hand-picked and developed from the Furzeland Park in England, well known for their superior genetics.
These lines are starting to show through in the quality three and four-year-olds we have made available at our sale this year.
Bred for trophy, the magnificent animals that you will commonly see in our pedigree reports are well known names to any expert – Romulus, Chancellor Peel, Jamieson and Caesar. However, we are no less impressed by our own breeding sires Jonah, Mac and Lord Oaks.
Over the last 12 years we have continued to build our hind base and have made some strategic investments in sire stag semen. Adding to our own breeding sires we have recently included Kane, in our opinion the top stag standing in the South Island in 2006
We currently have a breeding herd of 300 hinds, all with recorded history for the past five generations.
All of our stock have had a five-generation pedigree report completed and sire matched by GNOME, the most up-to-date breed matching analysis available.
Our intention is to breed exceptional animals with top body, velvet and hard antler weights that will make them sought after for breeding as well as trophy stags.
We pride ourselves on having exceptionally quiet and willing temperaments in our deer, a must for all farmers.
