After three successful decades respected industry leader, Clive Jermy, is retiring and we look forward to continuing a strong association with him. Most herds in the country have a good representation of Stanfield Warnham and Woburn genes in their makeup.
Clive has sold his entire Woburn herd and the balance of his Warnham herd to a trophy farm which means these stud animals will no longer be available to industry.
Our purchase of the Stanfield Warnhams (as well as a few selected Woburns) means we will be the prime source of these bloodlines moving forward. We are confident that the future of the deer industry is strong even though venison is at a low point at the moment. Velvet looks to be on a continuing up cycle and trophy stags remain well supported. The big heavy antlered Warnham deer serve all three of these end markets but in particular the biggest velvet producers are most often from Warnham bloodlines. However, a Warnham stag (Norton II) looks likely to break the IOA record this autumn.
Pampas Heights will also have priority access to the imported genetics from Warnham Park to continue the work previously carried out by Stanfield in continually upgrading the NZ Warnham herd.
The addition of the Warnhams and the limited size of our property means that we need to sell some fantastic animals to make room for the new Warnham herd. This is good news for anyone looking for a fast entry into quality breeding hinds this summer. It is a rare opportunity to buy a herd that has been bred over 26 years.
