He is sired by Amadeus, a Pure German who was bred by Foveran. Foveran described Amadeus as “the most amazing 2-year-old stag ever produced”. Rock Me’s dam is sired by Steinlager, bred by Black Forest and goes back to Colin who is a Festl Park German Sire. All in all this impressive breeding delivers a 7/8th German/English.
Impressive growth rates achieved which are rarely seen for this type. 148 kg at 15 months of age, and 224 kg at 2 years (sale day). These factors influenced our purchase of this stag from Brock Deer, and as at April 2019 Rock Me’s W12eBV was +8.1.
In addition, Rock Me offers outstanding antler, as you will see from the photos and data below. For example, at 2 years his velvet was estimated to be in excess of 6 kg. In December 2014 Rock Me cut an impressive 3 year old head of 14.8 kg OG velvet, along with 20 kg of OG velvet as a 4 year old.
Rock Me’s influence within our European and Maternal breeding programme cannot be underestimated.
